H. L. Dempsey Founder
Welcome to the H.L. Dempsey Co. Please take a moment to take a look at our company: how it began, where it stands today and its plans for the future.

From 1928 to 1960 H.L. Dempsey was employed by Ditto, Inc. as a service technician, then as a sales person and finally as the Manager of the Columbus, Ohio, and then Hartford, Connecticut, branches.

In 1960 H.L. Dempsey struck out on his own, founding his own company. He began with the customer base of Ditto customers in Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties of Massachusetts.

Lawrence T. (Larry) Dempsey joined his father in the business as a service technician in 1966. Two years later, Larry turned his attention to sales. The H.L. Dempsey Co., Inc. became an authorized Canon copier dealer in 1977.

The addition of this product line represented a significant change in the natural market of the company from educational and religious to commercial. In 1980, ownership of the company was transferred from H.L. Dempsey to his sons. William J. Dempsey continues to operate the business today.
Over the last several years the H.L. Dempsey Co. has experienced strong and steady growth. We believe there are three basic reasons for this.
The first of these is excellent service, the backbone of any successful business. There has been a strong emphasis on and commitment to providing superior service throughout the fifty-year history of the company. Employing a staff of factory trained, long tenured technicians and stocking an extensive parts inventory has earned the H.L. Dempsey Co. a reputation for high quality, responsive service.

The second component is excellent product. The H.L. Dempsey Co. carries the top line of office equipment: Canon copiers and fax machines This name is immediately recognized in the business community and is synonymous with quality.
Our third strength is strong management. Our management team believes that, in providing our customers with excellent service and product we'll help them achieve real gains in productivity in their own businesses.
